Damon spoke out in support of immigrants and refugees in our county. He made a cogent and impassioned argument steeped in history and personal experience as to why all of our neighbors should be treated with fairness and dignity. Below is a video of his speech.

Your talk on immigrants and refugees was unique, comprehensive and thus, very impressive. You covered the subject in ways that lifted pros and cons in a balance that speaks to value of humanity and help to those struggling to be embraced with humanity. You did not sensationalize liabilities of various ethnic groups, rather you acknowledged challenges that must be met by newcomers and the society to which they come. One can only hope the majority rules in this direction and that our society will scrutinize reality for clues of what really puts the US at risk for opposition/protest, in the form of Terror. We need not “bark up the wrong trees”.
